Our client was charged with serious drug offences after the police executed a search warrant at his premises. During the search the Police uncovered a large quantity of drugs and cash. The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions alleged a commercial element to the drugs, given the cash found at the time. Mr Dore negotiated with the Prosecution and as a result the DPP accepted that submission and returned a large quantity of the cash.
The charges themselves would usually carry a term of actual imprisonment. After submissions made on the client’s behalf, the sentencing Judge accepted there would be little utility to sentencing our client to a term of imprisonment. As such he avoided going to prison.
