Drug offences – application for leave to appeal against sentence

29 March 2016

Fisher Dore Lawyers

Fisher Dore acted for Mr T. He pleaded guilty to 1 count of trafficking in dangerous drugs, 11 counts of supplying dangerous drugs and 2 counts of possessing dangerous drugs. He was sentenced to a total of 7 years and 4 months imprisonment on the trafficking count.

Fisher Dore helped Mr T apply for leave to appeal against the sentence on the basis that it was manifestly excessive as the sentencing judge did not recommend consideration for release on parole. The Court was persuaded that a parole eligibility date should be fixed, and the sentence was varied to reflect this.
