Charges Withdrawn - Southport Magistrates Court

Our client was charged with assault in a nightclub in Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast. Our client was charged with being a party to the criminal conduct of another person. After reviewing CCTV footage it became obvious it would be difficult to prove the charge against our client on the basis relied upon by the Prosecution. Mr Dore forwarded submissions to the Prosecution however they maintained their position to continue the prosecution of our client.

On the morning of the trial Mr Dore continued negotiation with the Prosecution, highlighting the weaknesses in their case. After further negotiations the matter was successfully referred to Justice Mediation. As such, our client no longer faced serious charges for which he would have received a term of imprisonment but instead had been diverted to the mediation channels.
