Brisbane Magistrates Court Fraud Charges dismissed

Nick Dore of our office recently appeared for a client charged with serious fraud offences. The prosecution material was quite voluminous. The charges were serious and would have carried a significant period of jail.

With the help of Senior Counsel, Nick prepared the matter and came to the conclusion that there was no criminal conduct that could be alleged against our client. Representations were made to the Prosecution to have the charges withdrawn. These were rejected. The matter then proceeded by way of a three (3) day committal hearing. At the conclusion of that, submissions were made to Magistrate that there was insufficient evidence to commit our client for trial for these charges. The Magistrate agreed and accordingly, all charges against our client were dismissed.
